The Laud native retired in 1961 as president of Malhaupt Printing Co. after 35 years, was a veteran of World War I , and a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 82.
Surviving are his wife, Leona; a stepdaughter, Doris VanMeter of New Haven; a stepson, Robert Szink of New Haven; and a sister, Mildred Snook of Phoenix, Ariz.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday in C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 Wells St., where calling is 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Burial will be with military honors in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
