Born Sept. 18, 1916, in Stark to John T. and Ida A. Booker Pickerill, he married Mary Virginia Harmon on Sept. 24, 1938, in Princeville. She died May 14, 1989, in Peoria.
He then married Mary L. Hinck on July 28, 1992, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, David (and Kitty) of East Peoria; two daughters, Peggy (and William) Anderson of Peoria and Kathleen (and Thomas) Pickering of East Peoria; 11 grandchildren; and 11 greatgrandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
A World War II veteran, he served in the Army engineers.
An employee of Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria for 45 years, he retired as a manager in 1985.
He was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church in Peoria, where he was a former Boy Scout leader of Troop 18.
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at his church. Church clergy will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, with recitation of the rosary at 7:30 p.m. Visitation also will be 30 minutes before services at the church. Burial will be in Clovis Cemetery in Clovis, Calif.
