Virgie Reed Cox, 84, of Indian Valley, passed away Sunday, February 16, 1997, at Radford Community Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Elisha and Angeline “Ann" Phillips Reed. Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Cox, and a son, Roger E. “Mickey" Cox. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Paul A. and Bernice Cox of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn C. and Danny Baker of Richmond, and Pauline C. and Swanson Pendleton of Roanoke; one sister and brother-in-law, Lula and Hobert Marshall of Indian Valley; a sister-in-law, Edna Cox Reed of Willis; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel in Floyd, with the Rev. Roy Turpin officiating. Burial will be in the Cox Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Maberry Funeral Home
