Thomas came from an amazing family, the Covington Family. They trailed their way from North Carolina, South Carolina, Hopkinsville, Ky. and Florida after the Civil War. They lost a fortune in the war but the Covington brothers were able to gain it back in the turpentine business, brick masonry, wholesale groceries, as bankers and the Naval Stores in Florida, just to name a few. Thomas was working in Florida when he was in a automobile accident in 1930. My mother, Thomas's daughter was visiting her maternal grandmother at the time in Hopkinsville, Ky where Thomas and his first wife had resided until her death in 1922. Elizabeth Jane Covington lived with her grandmother until she married in 1942. Thomas had 2 children, one Elizabeth Jane Covington in 1922, whose mother was Elizabeth Davis Covington and Thomas Bass Covington, Jr. in 1925 whose mother was Ethel Wallace. Thomas has two grandchildren Sandra and Linda Wilson born March ll, 1945 from Elizabeth Jane Covington Wilson, and 4 grandchildren from Thomas Bass Covington, Jr.
