IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Ernest Willard Meyer, 92, of Idaho Falls, died April 10, 2009, at his home. He was under the care of Aspen Hospice.
He was born March 8, 1917 in Red Lodge, Montana, to William George Meyer and Ida E. Beach Meyer. The family moved to Bone, Idaho in February of 1920. He attended Rock Creek and Birch Creek schools. He lived in Bone until the fall of 1945 when he moved to Idaho Falls.
Ernest married Helen Adams on June 28, 1938 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They made their home just outside of Iona in 1950 where they raised their four children on the family farm and ranch. He liked to fish. He especially liked to travel and enjoyed 12 winters in Yuma, Arizona.
Ernest's family was always most important to him and he looked forward to family gatherings.
He often said his grandchildren and great grandchildren were his greatest joy.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Wood Funeral Home East Side Chapel, 963 S. Ammon Road, with Bishop Byard Cox of the Iona 2nd Ward officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
