John Mathias Nidey, son of Timothy and Lucinda Thompson Nidey, was born near Floris, Iowa Nov. 16, 1872 and died June 8, 1940 at the age of 67 years, 6 months, and 22 days. He leaves to mourn their loss 2 sisters, Mrs. Ida (Nidey Wilkinson) Current and Amy Nidey with whom he made his home since the death of his mother 21 years ago. His father, mother and infant brother preceded him in death.
He made a profession of faith in Christ but never united with any church. From two years of age he was a cripple but never complained about anything during his life of affliction and had a cheerful disposition.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Floris Baptist Church with Rev. Hickock conducting the service. Burial was at the Pierce Cemetery east of Floris.
