Grover Cleveland Swan SR., of Route 169, died Wednesday at the Backus Hospital,in Norwich.
He was born March 22,1893,in Hebron the son of William and Emma (Smith) Swan. He was a member of the Stafford Springs Baptist Church, a charter member of the Canterbury Fire Department, and the tax review and constable of the town of Canterbury for 12 years.
He was the dog warden for the town of Canterbury and Hampton for 12 years. He belonged to the Canterbury Grange, and was the district fire warden for 10 years.
He leaves his wife Stella (Bartizeki) Swan five sons, Grover, James,Kenneth,Frank, all of Connecticut. Merton, of Illinois.
and one daughter Sharon,of Connecticut.
