Retired District Clerk A N Carpenter, Dies

Albert N Carpenter, 78, of 427 Rusk St passed away at his home,
Wednesday, Feb 28.
A native of Camp County, he was born Nov 27, 1894 and had lived in
this area most of his life. He was a former District Clerk and County
Treasurer of Camp County.
Funeral services were conducted at the New Mine Baptist Church, of
which he was a member, 2pm Friday, with the Rev Floyd Hoover, officiating.
Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Naomi Smith, to whom he married
in 1916. Other survivors include two sons, James Morrell Carpenter, Pittsburg
and Albert Ray Carpenter, Kemp, Texas; one daughter, Mrs Altha Mae Honeycutt,
of Tyler;one brother, O C Carpenter, Pittsburgh; one sister, Mrs L E Klengholz of
Houston; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Burial was in New Mine Cemetery with grandsons.
