Mrs. Smizer, 77, Dies Suddenly in Home at Paris
PARIS. Mo., Feb. 14 (Monitor- Index Special Service) — Mrs. Lockie Virginia Smizer, 77-year- old Paris woman, fell dead at home yesterday afternoon about 4 o'clock.
Mrs. Smizer had been feeling unwell since last Sunday evening and complained of pains in throat and chest. Yesterday she was sitting up and was entertaining callers, Mrs. Loa Scobee and Mrs. Dave See. Remarking that she wished to put coal in the furnace downstairs she excused herself. Her two visitors insisted that they be allowed to refire the furnace as Mrs. Smizer should not do so in her condition, but she declined their offer.
Coming back from the the basement into the room occupied by her callers, Mrs. Smizer suddenly gasped and fell to the floor. Death was instantaneous.
Mrs. Smizer is survived by three brothers, Ed Sanders of Paris, Jim Sanders of north of Paris, and George Sanders of Shelbina.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
