Mrs. Nellie E. Wheeler, 80, of 400 Wyatt Avenue, Lincoln, Illinois formerly of Dieterich, passed away at 5:07 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 1967, at the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hopital, after a long illness, for which she had been hositalized since Thanksgiving.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6th at the Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln with Rev. T.H. Sanders, Pastor of the Lincoln Presbyterian Church officiating.

Mrs. Wheeler, the former Nellie Ethel Gass of South Muddy Township, Jasper County, was born at Effingham, Illinois on May 25, 1886, the first child of the late Joseph and Alice Worthy Gass, who later moved to Jasper County. In 1914, she was married to Raymond Wheeler at LeRoy, Illinois, Mr. Wheeler passed away in 1925. After his passing, Mrs. Wheeler and their three children, Roger, Alice and Joe, moved to Dieterich to be near other members of her parental family. However, a few years later, she moved to Lincoln to take employment.
