NEWHALL - Joseph Melvin Quesenberry, 90 of Newhall, died Thursday, April 1, 2004 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Beckley.

Born Feb. 15, 1914 in Pounding Mill, Va., he was a son of the late James and Alice Caldwell Quesenberry. He was US Army veteran serving in the South Pacific Theatre during World War II.

He was a member of the Springs of Life Tabernacle in Newhall.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Ruth Sampson Quesenberry; and one daughter, Tammy Starr Horn.

Survivors include one son, Joseph S. Quesenberry of Newhall; two daughters, Wanda Hardy and husband, Tony, and Alice Sykes and husband, Daniel, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; son-in-law, Ray Horn of English; one sister, Anna Pennington of Lebanon, Va.; 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Tuesday at the Springs of Life Tabernacle in Newhall with Sister Mary Osborne officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the church after 11 a.m. Tuesday.
