Obituary in The Bienville Democrat March 4, 1971:

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 in the First Pentecostal Church in Gibsland for William Riley Chreene, 79, who died unexpectedly at his home in Gibsland Feb. 23. The Rev. H.B. Ward officiated and the Rev. J.A. Jones assisted. Interment was in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. Conger Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Chreene was employed at a service station in Sibley. He had been a resident of Gibsland for more than 20 years and was a member of the First Pentecostal Church there. He was the son of Freeman Chreene and Eliza Cox Chreene.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Addie Mae Welch Chreene of Gibsland; two daughters, Miss Nancy Kay Chreene of Gibsland and Mrs. Sherman Poole of Enterprise; one son, Billy Roy Chreene of Gibsland; seven sisters, Mrs. G.L. Booth of Doyline, Mrs. Ella Francis, Mrs. Jessie Chreene, Mrs. Paul Morris, all of Shreveport, Mrs. Bell Hensley of Mansfield, Mrs. Ad-- [blurred] of Grand Cane and [blurred] Moore of Center [blurred] brothers Sam Chreene [blurred] Grand Cane, J.D. Chreene [blurred] Chreene of Shreveport [blurred] Lee Chreene of Doyline [blurred] grandchildren.
