We were informed incorrectly as to the accident of Johnie Lockabay(sic) and son who got hurt by the train last week, an account of which we gave in the Sentinel. The facts are these:

Johnie and his son Oscar left home at an early hour to catch an early train out of Corbin to go up on the C.V. to find work but before they reached Corbin a train came along and they stepped over on the other track after which the "push engine" which pushes the trains out of Corbin came along and knocked them off breaking one of John's legs in two places and otherwise injuring him from which he died last Friday night.

His body was buried at Hopewell Saturday afternoon.

News reached here that while John G. Lockabay(sic) and his son of the Hopewell neighborhood were going to Corbin last Monday morning to work and while walking on the railroad a train came along, and they stepped over on the other track to let it pass (a) train came in the opposite direction striking both of them, knocking them off and cutting off both legs of each one of them and otherwise injuring them from which John died Monday afternoon. It is thought the boy will die.
