Maxie Rae Smith, 88 of Bon Wier, Texas, died on Aug. 16, 2011 at Jasper Rehabilitation and Health Care.
She was born on Aug. 12, 1923 in Jasper, Texas, and was a longtime resident of Bon Wier.
She is survived by her sons, David Rainer and wife, Sue of Laurel Fork, VA, Bob Smith and wife, Mary of Bleakwood and Charlie Smith and wife, Rhonda of Shawnee Town, Ill., daughters, Danice Jeans of Merryville, La., June Low and husband, Debruel of Buna, Nelda Miller and husband, Sky of Burkeville, Jackie Smith and husband, Danny of Kirbyville and Phyllis Paul and husband, Bobby of Orangefield, 35 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandhildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Smith, son, Henry Smith and daughter-in-law, Donna Smith, granddaughter, Tata Smith, son-in-law, Charlie Jeans and grandson, Boone Jeans.
Visitation will be on Friday, Aug. 19, 2011 beginning at 5:00 pm at the Bon Wier United Pentecostal Church. Funeral services will be on Saturday, Aug. 20, 201 at 10:00 am at the Bon Wier United Pentecostal Church with burial to follow at the Lewis Chapel Cemetery.
