FEB. 28, 1920 - W. C. TAYLOR DIES SUDDENLY.
Just as we’re going to press we learn that William Carey Taylor, who lived about ten miles south of town, had died very suddenly. He left home about ten o’clock to ride to Teddy Redding’s place, a distance of about one and a half miles. On his way he stopped at the huse of Mr. Griffiths and appeared to be in very good spirits. After chatting awhile he went as far as the door but turned back and sat down on the chair again without speaking. he immediately afterwards slipped off to the floor and expired almost instantly. Heart disease is thought to be the cause of death.
Deceased was a brother of Mrs. (Dr.) Norquay and brother-in-law of F. G. Atkinson.
He enlisted in the 232nd battalion but was discharged as medically unfit before the regiment went overseas.
The funeral will be from the home of B. H. Clouston on Monday afternoon.

PROMINENT FARMER RECEIVES SUDDEN CALL.
The community was deeply shocked on Saturday last to learn of the very sudden death of a prominent and highly respected resident of the district in the person of William C. Taylor.
About 10 a.m. that day the deceased left on horseback to visit E. J. Redding, who was ill with the fly. Stopping en-route at the home of Wm. Griffiths, Mr. Taylor talked for a few moments with Mrs. Griffiths, who was alone at the time. After going to the door with the intention of taking his departure, he returned and sat down and immediately afterwards slipped to the floor. thinking that he had merely fainted, Mrs. Griffiths tried the usual means of revival but soon made the sorrowful discovery that life was extinct.
Although the victim was known to have a weak heart and to suffer considerable from rheumatism, there was no indication that the end was so near. In fact he had but recently returned from an inspection of his cattle being wintered at Wadena and on the day before his death he was in town, apparently in the enjoyment of his usual health and spirits. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. J. C. MacLeod in the presence of a large number of friends from both town and country. Interment took place at Battleford Cemetery.
The late Wm. C. Taylor was but 39 years of age, and came to Battleford from Corbetton, Ontario, in 1903. He enlisted during the war, but was later discharged, on the core of physical imperfections.
He is survived by a deeply sorrowing, wife and one daughter, other near local relatives being one brother, Thos. E. Taylor, and one sister, Mrs. (Dr.) Norquay. The father of deceased and two other surviving brothers were formerly residents of this district.
