UXBRIDGE - Ruth E. (Aldrich) Tancrell, 80, of 19 Calumet Court, died yesterday in Beaumont Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Northbridge.
Her husband, Armand "Jeep" Tancrell, died in 1986. She leaves a son, Paul A. Tancrell of Warren, Ind.; two daughters, Kathy A. Raymond of North Smithfield, R.I., and Gail J. Beland of North Uxbridge, and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was born in Uxbridge, daughter of Arthur and Mabel (Gough) Aldrich, and lived in Uxbridge until moving to the nursing home in March. She attended Uxbridge schools and Worcester Girls Trade High School.
Mrs. Tancrell worked at Stanley Woolen Mill, retiring in 1984. She previously worked at Bernat Yarn Co. and at Kartiganer Hat Shop, Upton. An accomplished seamstress, she enjoyed all types of needlework.
A funeral service will be private. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow in Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill St., Whitinsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association of the Greater Milford-Northbridge Area, 1 Emerson Place, Mendon, MA 01756.
