Lot was the son of Isaac Greene and Sarah "Sallie" Estes. He was married to Diadema Bishop and then to Edith Watson.

It is with peculiar sadness that we chronicle the death of our esteemed and venerable friend Lot. W. Green, which occurred at his home on Stony Fork on last Saturday, after intense suffering. He was a veteran of the Confederacy, a good, Christian gentleman, and will be sadly missed in his community. He was buried with Masonic honors on Sunday near his old home.
