Ruston, Feb. 25 (Special) - John M. Barr, 75, a retired Ruston teacher, died today in the Veterans' Hospital in Shreveport after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held Sunday in the Temple Baptist Church in Ruston, with burial in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery near Gibsland. Spears Funeral Home in Ruston is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Barr, a former principal of Greenwood Highwood School in Caddo Parish, taught in North Louisiana for 42 years before his retirement 10 years ago. He was a graduate of Louisiana Tech, and a native of Jackson Parish.
He is survived by his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Sarah B. Larson of New Iberia; two sons, John B. Barr of Shreveport and Warren M. Barr of Monroe; and five grandchildren.
