Castle Dale- Mary Clarissa Allred Wilstead, age 95, passed away on August 16, 2011 in Ferron, Utah. Mary was born in Cleveland, Emery, Utah on March 26, 1916 to James Franklin and Isabella Knight Allred. She married Samual Dodd Wilstead on February 20, 1937 in Grand Junction, Colorado. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on July 18, 1964.

Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family; she will be missed dearly by them. She was a hard worker in whatever she did, and passed this trait on to her family. She was born and raised in Cleveland, Utah, Mary and Dodd moved to Castle Gate in 1937 where their children were born and raised. They moved to Castle Dale in 1974. Mary had a green thumb and enjoyed working in her garden, taking care of her flowers, trees, and produce. Mary loved canning fruits and jams, collecting rocks and making herself a rock garden. She also loved reading, knitting, crocheting, sewing and genealogy, she loved music, singing and dancing. Mary was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many callings through the years, including: Sunday School teacher and secretary, Primary teacher, Relief Society teacher, and visiting teacher. Mary served a mission in the LDS Church offices in Salt Lake City, Utah, she also served in the Manti LDS Temple. Mary was a member of the Daughter of Utah Pioneers. She will be remembered for her loving care to her family and friends.

She is survived by her children: Etova Snow, Ruth Seretia (Sharpe) Snow, Dodd Nordell (Connie) Wilstead all of Castle Dale, Utah, Russell Lee (Denise) Wilstead of Helper and daughter-in-law: Reta Wilstead of Syracuse, Utah, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, sister, Utahna (Willie) Wilson of Lawrence, Utah, sister-in-law, Phyllis Allred of Ferron.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dodd, son, Lynden Wilstead, five brothers, Russell, Harold, Doyle, Vonal and Nordell Allred, and son-in-law, John Snow.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Castle Dale 3rd Ward Chapel (165 West 800 North).

A viewing will be held on Friday, August 19, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale (720 North Center St), and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services at the church.

Interment will be in the Castle Dale Cemetery.
