Suggested edit: Charles Wood Calvert, my Great Uncle, was born in Saint George, Tucker County, West Virginia, USA. He was drafted into the US Marine Corp 19 Jul 1918, age 22.75, and after basic training was sent directly to Cuba as part of the Corps dealing with civil unrest in the Sugar Industry. Cuba at the time was a US Protectorate. Released from the Corps 7 Feb 19418, he left Cuba 30 Sep 1918; returned home and moved in with his parents. The civil unrest was dealt with by the US Military, and became violent from time to time. See WIKIPEDIA.

Charles was employed as a Game Warden in Tucker County but I don't have details. His Obituary was published in the Parsons Advocate; again I don't have details. His Mother's Birth name was Emmalina, aka 'Emma' Francis Nester - sometimes spelled Nestor - the original spelling.

Charles siblings:
Hugh Maxwell Calvert - b. 22Aug 1886; d. 27 Jun 1948
Grove Anthony Calvert - b. 23 Jul 1888; d. 1795
Anna 'Annie' Laurie Calvert - b. 23 Aug 1891; d. 11 May - 1985 was my Grandmother.
James Gordon Calvert - b. 07 Mar 1893; 07 Apr 1981
Jean Paul Calvert - b. 5 Feb 1897; 29 Apr 1973
Amos Elmer Calvert - b. 01 Aug 1899- 19 Jun 1971
