LEETONIA - A memorial service will be at 2 pm Tuesday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home for Larry G Rupert, 42 of 1530 Beson Mill Road, who died Friday morning at Salem Community Hospital from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.
Mr Rupert was born April 22, 1945 in Salem a son of Raymond C and Martha Mahon Rupert of New Waterford. He had resided in the area all his life. He was employed as an assistant manager the Ohio Bell office in Salem and had worked for Bell since 1969. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Philippines during the Viet nam War. He was a member of the Washingtonville VFW Post 5532 and the Ohio Bell Telephone Pioneers. He had been active in the Mahoning County Special Olympics and had worked with baseball teams for the blind.
Besides his parents, he leaves his wife, the former Barbara Calvin whom he married Feb 8, 1967; two sons, Christopher G, serving with the U.S. Air Force in England, and Matthew W at home; and two brothers Ted W. of Lake Milton and Raymond "Chip" of Coatsville Pa.
A brother is deceased.
