Her life began in Elbert County, Georgia. She was the youngest of ten children.
Flora started her married life with her late husband, Charles O. Reid, in Pine Mountain, Georgia, later moving to Newberry, S.C. and then to Marietta in 1942.
Flo worked for Bell Aircraft and Lockheed, retiring in 1965. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Marietta for 68 years. Family and friends will miss her dearly, but celebrate her long and meaningful journey. We all cherish the love and joy she brought us. Known for her sense of humor and life stories from having traveled extensively with Charles, and her always "up" attitude, she had a reputation for her beautiful needlework and fine sewing. Her cooking on holidays for the family was always the highlight of the day. She was an inspiration to every life she touched.
Her 95 years were all too short in the eyes of those who loved her.
Flo is survived by daughter, Helen, and son-in-law, John Beavers; three grandsons – Charles and wife, Delphia Beavers, of Rockmart, GA; Stuart and wife, Melani Beavers, of Highlands, NC; Tate and wife, Laurie Beavers, of Acworth, GA; nine great-grandchildren, and one sister, Tee Greenway Seymour of Marietta; several nieces and nephews.
