F uneral services for Mrs. Thelma Gladys Hancock, 87, of Clarksville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2002, from the chapel of Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Don Zuberer officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery with Sykes Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Hancock died Saturday, March 9 at Spring Meadows Health Care. She was a retired nurse from Gateway Medical Center and a member of First Baptist Church.
Born January 25, 1915, in Livingston, she was the daughter of the late Ras Turner and Ida (Hogue) Ledbetter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Edgar Hancock.
Survivors include a son, Royce Hancock, Clarksville; a daughter, Joyce Janiec, Clarksville; two brothers, Elijah Robert Ledbetter, Georgia, and J.C. Ledbetter, Cookeville; a sister, Mary Belle Mainord, Anderson, IN; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were family and friends. Serving as honorary pallbearers were the Joy Sunday School Class and Sunshine Class.
