Robert C. Adamire, 82, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday August 15, 2011 at Hamilton Arms. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late William R. Sr. and Mary (Pfautz) Adamire. He was married to Nancy (Peters) Adamire for sixty two years. Robert was a 1946 graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School and was employed at Armstrong for forty two years before his retirement in 1994. He was a member of St. Andrew United Church of Christ where he served as the church sexton for many years. He enjoyed music, old movies, and watching the Phillies. Along with his wife, Robert is survived by two sons, Glenn D. husband of Peggy (Wilson) Adamire of Lancaster, and Robert E. husband of Cynthia (Eby) Adamire of New Holland; two daughters, Ellen D. wife of Charles Heaps of Lancaster, and Carol A. wife of Michael Stetler of Lancaster; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren. One brother Richard Adamire and one sister, Doris Berger. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William R. Jr. and James; and three sisters Mary Way, Jane Albright and Helen Shultz. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral service at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home 141 E. Orange St. Lancaster, PA on Thursday August 18th at 2:00 PM. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be sent to the American Heart Association 610 Community Way Lancaster, PA 17603.
