Roberta Elvira Clark was the daughter of Robert Elmore Stice and Elizabeth Davis.

Mrs. George H Clark, nearly 89 years old, a pioneer of Cass County, died at home in East Lynne on Thursday, July 30, 1925 after having lived in that town for the past fifteen years.

Roberta Elvira Stice was the daughter of Robert Elmore Stice and Elizabeth Davis and was born in Waverly, Illinois, on October 13, 1836, the exact age at the time of her death being 88 years, 9 months, and 17 days. On November 8, 1860, she married George Henry Clark, who preceded her in death on March 28, 1917.

With her husband Mrs. Clark came to Cass County in 1867 and settled on a farm five miles south of East Lynne, where they lived until 1910, when they moved to the town of East Lynne. When they came to this county the vast prairies knew few farm homes and it was only a short time after the Civil War. Mr. and Mrs. Clark were blessed with a family of eight children, one dying in infancy. The seven surviving children are: D. L. (Lester) Clark of East Lynne; Mrs. Nettie J. Nichols of Humansville, MO; Seymour J. Clark of East Lynne; Edar J. Clark of Cedar Vale, KS; Mrs. Clara E. Sevy of Peculiar, MO; and Mrs. Mamie E. Ammon of East Lynne. Also there are twenty-five grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. L.W. Hoover, pastor of the East Lynne Methodist Church, were held at Mrs. Clark's home on Saturday, August 1. Burial was in Clearfork Cemetery.

Mrs. Clark was an Aunt of Homer J. Clark of Harrisonville and Harlie F. Clark of Independence, Missouri. She had been seriously ill for only two weeks, and all of her children were at her bedside when she peacefully passed away. She was an indulgent mother and an ideal neighbor, and her death is mourned by all the residents in East Lynne.
