Jeremy Parkhurst Love was the son of Flora Campbell and John Crook Love.

He married Amanda Cooper on March 11, 1849. They had Cecelia Roselette and Lyman Melancthon before Amanda's death just months after Lyman's birth.

Jeremy then married Amanda's sister, Eliza Cooper on July 24, 1852. They were the parents of Amanda Jane, Sara Adaline, Absalom Crook, Manerva Florence and Howard Campbell. Eliza died in 1864.

Jeremy is buried next to his third and final wife, Mahala Rollins. They were the parents of Flora Etta, Charles, William Lowery, Exie Alice, Nora Belle and James Parkhurst. Flora, William and Exie all died before their first birthday.

This vast mix of relatives should have led to turmoil but by all accounts it was a loving and close family for this generation as well as the next. Gatherings of cousins were numerous and often family moves and migrations would be made in large groups.
