Master Sgt. Charles L. Price III, 40, of Milam, Texas, died Aug. 12 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo. He was on his sixth deployment since entering the Army in 1989. He also served in Iraq, Kosovo, Kuwait, the Balkans and Saudi Arabia. His decorations including the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal, five Army Commendation Medals and nine Army Achievement Medals. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 16 years, Helen Marie Clark-Price, of Ft. Carson, Colo.; sons, Donavon and Michael Clark, and Ra'shawn Price, all of Ft. Carson; daughters, Lakrishia Price, of Cameron, Joshlyn Reynolds, of San Antonio, and Sha'meka and Sha'niya Clark, of Ft. Carson; grandsons, Dominick and Darrick Reynolds; mother, Grace H. Price, of Cameron; brothers, Eric Jerome and wife, Diahana, of Austin, and Marvin Charles Williams, of Cameron; sisters, Iperia Flatt and husband, Shaun, of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Roshunda Price and Antonio Jenkins, of Shreveport, La.; mother-in-law, Emma Clark, of Opelousas, La.; father-in-law, Pervis Espree, of Opelousas; step-father-in-law, Donald Handy, of Opelousas; sisters-in-law, Carla Clark and Danielle Handy, both of Opelousas; brothers-in-law, Robert Clark, James Clark, and Brian Clark, all of Opelousas; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends.
