He was born the son of Thomas Morgan and Mariah E. Johns Jenkins in Malad, Sept. 25, 1903. He moved with his parents to Iona in 1904. He received h is early schooling in Iona.
He married Eliza Gardner April 13, 1922 in Lincoln. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple, Oct. 21, 1960.
Following their marriage, he farmed at Iona. They lived in Lincoln, York and Rigby for short times but moved back to Iona in 1929 and lived there since.
He was first president of the Iona Posse and was a lover of horses. He won many ribbons for his horses. For the past eight years he had worked for the Idaho Canal Co.
He was an active member of the LDS Church and was active in the Sunday School organization serving as superintendent of the Sunday School.
He is survived by his widow and the following children: Mrs. Charles William (Marjorie Mildred) Rockwood and Mrs. Bruce R. (Lowana) Rockwood, both of Iona; and Karrel Nathaniel Jenkins, Iona. One son was killed in World War II. He is survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters and a brother, Mrs. L. T. (Sarah) Helmley, Klowa, Kan.; Mrs. M. J. (Rose) Gray, York; and E. L. Jenkins, New Sweden.
