James Floyd Jenkins Sr., 87, of Idaho Falls, died March 29, 1993, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center of natural causes.

He was born March 17, 1906, at Idaho Falls, to Thomas Orin and Elva Adela Bybee Jenkins. He attended Riverside Elementary and Central High School. He was a lifelong resident of Idaho Falls.

On Sept. 4, 1926, he married Ilean Shields Hansen at Idaho Falls. She died Dec. 10, 1948. He married Marcella Gordon in 1949. They were later divorced. He worked as a cattle buyer.

He was a member of the LDS Church. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge and the Idaho Falls Mounted Sheriff's Posse. He enjoyed fishing, rodeos, dancing and music.

Survivors include his children, James Floyd Jenkins Jr., Ted Johnson, Gordon Floyd "Jenks" Jenkins, Mrs. Cliff (Donna) Garriott, and Mrs. George (Darlene) Bott, all of Idaho Falls; two brothers and a sister, Bish Jenkins, Carroll Jenkins and Virginia Borg Denney, all of Idaho Falls; 13 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister and a grandson.

The family suggests memorials to the Helping Hand Unit at Good Samaritan Nursing Center, 840 E. Elva, Idah Falls.
