Lawrence Richmond Frank, age 91, went to be with the Lord March 8, 2021. He was born to the late Archie and Phoebe (Morton) Frank March 30, 1929 on Easter Sunday at home in Tiro, Ohio.

Lawrence married Annabelle M. (Walther) Frank, June 29, 1958 . They lived in one home until moving to Maplecrest Assisted Living in Bucyrus during the fall of 2016 where both have received great care.

Lawrence is preceded in death by parents; infant son, Frederick Frank; siblings, Lloyd (Garnet) Frank, Ethel (John) Caine, Donald (Verna) Frank, Clifford ( Jan) Frank, Gertrude (Bud) Page, Gene (Marjorie and Marge, surviving) Frank, and four siblings who died in infancy; son-in-law, John Bodkin; brother-in-law Wendall Smith.

Survived by wife, Annabelle Frank of 62 years; daughters, Theresa (Larry) Trase of Litchfield, OH, Denise (Christian) Scheiner of Robbinsville, NJ, and Shelley Duffy of Columbus, OH; grandcildren, Katie (Eric Kronberg) Trase, Kristina Trase, Nick Bodkin, Adam Bodkin, Andrew Johns, Matthew Johns, Angela Johns, and Megan Johns; step-granddaughters, Karina Scheiner and Stefanie (Jan) Brechlin; siblings, Lelia (Sam) Poffenbaugh and Karyl Smith; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Lawrence attended Sulphur Springs High School. He spent 2 years in the Korean War serving as a mechanic in Japan. He worked 8 years for Shunk in Bucyrus, then retired from Timken after 35 years. Lawrence was a farmer of his childhood homestead all his life and retired from his farming hobby in 2006. Throughout retirement, Lawrence would escape to the farm daily for rest and relaxation. He often took his grandchildren to the farm for tractor and wagon rides, and to play with kittens and lambs.

He also enjoyed gardening and sharing the bounty with neighbors. Lawrence would not plant just a few seeds but the entire seed package to the dismay of his wife and family. He would return home from the farm garden late into the evening with the bushel baskets full of harvest. The family then had to go to work canning or freezing well into the night.

Lawrence also enjoyed fox hunting in the winter and coon hunting on rainy nights, bus trips with his wife, attending auctions buying boxes of "useless junk" for a dollar, telling corny jokes, and yodeling. He made sure his grandchildren knew they were related to President Warren G. Harding and would take them to visit the Harding Memorial in Marion, Ohio. He especially enjoyed his trips to the Amish Country.

Visiting hours are at Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home from 12 p.m.-2 p.m. Monday, March 15. The service will follow visitation at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Sandusky Township Cemetery next to the family farm and of which he donated an acre of land. Please wear a mask if you will be attending. Memorials may be made to the Maplecrest Assisted Living.
