LYLE WILLIS GATES "Bill" age 82 and over 50 year Clawson resident, died August 14, 2011. Born August 29, 1928 in Tyrone, Pennsylvania to Cloyd and Rachael (Ewing) Gates. Bill married Patricia on September 29, 1951 in Clawson. Bill is survived by his daughters, Deborah (Ronald) O'Connor, Joann (Roderick) Williams and Susan (Kurt) Townsend, along with eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his beloved, wife Patricia in 2006, his sisters, Josephine Holt and Adelade Longenbaker as well as his parents. Bill was a WWII Veteran of the United States Navy where he received a Victory Medal. He retired in 1993 from ITT as a Brake Technician. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed woodworking.
