"31st Marriage Anniversary
Thirty-one years ago Wednesday, March 20, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Beverlin, occurred the marriage of their daughter, Miss India, to Mr. Charles E. Owen. That day was cold and stormy - quite a contrast to yesterday.
In order to properly celebrate the occasion, their children, John Owens and Mrs. Juanita Kellogg, together with their families, planned and carried out a surprise for their father and mother by going at the noon hour taking dinner with them to the Owens' home and sharing it with them."
According to the Maryville Daily Forum, November 3, 1959, page 2, John B. Owens, 71, son of Charles and India Beverlin Owens, died and was buried at Carson City, Nevada. He left a widow, Minnie Logan Owens, a son, John Logan Owens, a sister, Mrs. J. Fred Kellogg of St. Joseph, and a brother, Marion Owens of Chicago.
See the Maryville Daily Forum, January 6, 1947, page 2 for a brief report of her death and January 9, 1947, page 3 for a brief report from the funeral.
