Family Data gives marriage 15 Jan 1830 in Hawkins Co, TN but the Tennessee State Marriages list a John Gideons married a Polly Evans 15 Jan 1829 in Jefferson Co, TN.
Have not seen any proof of him passing in 1870 so it may be 1870 or before since he is absent from the census.
