He enlisted in the third Wisconsin volunteer infantry company I. He reenlisted December 13, 1863 at war trace Tennessee and served till close of the war and was discharged with his Regiment July 18, 1865. This Regiment took an active part in the war and was the front from the first to last thing in the battle of Anaheim Chancellorsville and Gettysburg with Sherman on his March to sea and in many other struggles of that campaign after his discharge he returned to Wisconsin, engaged in mining one year then went down the Mississippi and followed boating until the fall of 1869 when he returned to Wisconsin. But where in Lafayette County in the spring of 1870 came to Korea glory County than the 69. He was married to Jenny Rowe, a native of England; they had seven childrenSgt. Co. 13rd Wis. Inf.
