MUNCIE - Luda E. Watson, 87, long time Muncie resident went to be with her lord Sunday evening after an extended illness. Mrs. Watson was born in Monticello, Kentucky on February 17th to Hile and Julie (Baker) Slagle.
She attended schools in Kentucky and then married Charlie F. Watson who passed away in December of 1989. Luda was a member of Memorial United Baptist Church and has lived in Blountsville, Middletown, OH. and Lebanon, OH. and also West Elkton, OH.
Survivors include seven loving children, four sons, Donald Watson, (wife Verda) of La Grange, GA.; Gene Watson, (wife Gale) of Muncie, IN.; George Watson, (wife Sheila) of Cowan, IN.; Gary Watson, (wife Gail) of Farmland, IN.; three daughters, Carolyn Walters, of Waverly, OH.; Jill Flynn, of Waverly, OH.; June Ring (husband Rickey) of Muncie, IN.; Brian K. Watson, Fargo, N.D.; and one sister, Vena Watson of Waynesville, OH., 21 grandchildren, 27 great- grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her parents, husband and several half brothers and sisters.
Calling hours will be from 4-8 P.M. Wednesday August 18th at PARSON MORTUARY, 801 W. Adams St.Funeral Services are Thursday at 1 P.M. August 19th at PARSON MORTUARY, 801 W. Adams St.,with Pastor Rusty Watson officiating. Burial will be in Mooreland Cemetery, Mooreland, IN.
