Pvt. Joseph W. Bourne served with honor in Company G, 49th Tennessee Infantry Regiment, Confederate States of America. He was wounded in action at Farmington, Tenn. and a POW captured twice. The first time he was captured at Ft. Donelson. He later joined Woodard's 2nd KY Cavalry and served until the end of the war.
