73, a resident Of Dartmouth, died Tuesday at St. Anne's Hospital In Fall River after brief illness.

He was the husband Of Alice (Barros) Cordeiro.

Born In New Bedford, Mr. Cordeiro was the owner And captain Of the fishing boat, Black Hawk, out Of Falmouth.

Mr. Cordeiro was a Korean War veteran, serving as a sergeant in the Marines. He was also a driver And salesman for Giusti Bakery, "Bunny Bread" for 25 years.

Mr. Cordeiro was a former member Of the Mass Bass Association And a member Of the Chosen Few. He formerly played football for the Murphy Club, And played for New Bedford Vocational High School In 1944. He also played CYO basketball for Holy Name Church.

Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Jan Cordeiro Boucher Of Fairhaven, Barbara Andre Sanford Of Palm Beach, Fla., And Kathleen Andre Panker Of North Dartmouth; a brother, Donald Levasseur Of Fairfield, Conn.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two nephews; And several cousins.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:45 p.m. tomorrow In St. Mary Church, South Dartmouth, preceded by visitation at 11:30 a.m. at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St., New Bedford.

Burial will be In the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

Visiting hours are 2 to 4 And 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
