Rites Set For Victim of Fumes

Whitesville - Funeral services for one of the victims of fumes from a
stove in a trailer at the Bluestone Dam will be conducted tomorrow.

The Rev. Kenna French, Packsville, will conduct the rites for Mrs.
Sadie Spaulding Jarrell, 61, of Packsville, whose body was discovered
in the trailer on Tuesday, July 11.

Mrs. Jarrell was born at Cabin Creek on August 14, 1896, a daughter
of Mrs. Laura Spaulding, another victim of the fumes, and Samuel
Spaulding of Ronda. Her husband preceded her in death.

Survivors include four brothers, Clinton and Lester, both of Cabin
Creek; J.Q. of Charleston and James of Columbus, O.; two sisters,
Mrs. Jessie Hastings of Wayne, Mich., and Mrs. Birdie Matthews of
Columbus, O.; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Johnson and Mrs. Laura
Thompson, both of Whitesville; two stepsons, Don Jarrell of Hinton
and J.T. Jarrell of Beckley; six grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.

Services will be held in the Valley Funeral Home with burial made in
the Ronda Cemetery at Ronda.
