He was a chef at several restaurants, including the Victory Club and Yacht Club, both in Fort Wayne, the 30 Club in Columbia City and the Heidelberg in Huntington. He was a World War II Navy veteran, and was the widower of Louise P., who died in 1992.
Surviving are his daughters, Cherri Lee Hicks of Ridgeville; brothers, Glenn of Fort Wayne and Walter Norman of Angola; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
