Mrs. Peggy Y. Allen 64, of Caroline County entered into eternal rest after a long illness on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Kindred Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

She was born November 19, 1945 to the late Samuel Turner, Sr. and Lillie K. Turner. She graduated from Union High School, Bowling Green, Virginia. She was preceded in death by a son, James N, Lewis; two brothers, Samuel Turner, Jr. and Boyd A. Turner, Sr.; three sisters, Virginia M. Reynolds, Mary E. Turner and Joyce M. Turner; and her godparents, the late Samuel and Hannah Parker.

She was a long standing member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Woodford, Virginia and regularly attended when her health permitted. She served on the Usher Board and the Junior Choir and was a member of the Helping Hands Club.

She leaves to mourn her death her devoted husband of forty years, John R. Allen; six children, William "Little Wee" Turner, Mary Y. Lewis, Kurt R. Allen (Veletta), Orlando C. Allen, Nicole C. Allen and John R. Allen, Jr.; four sisters, Jeanette T. Green, Dorothy E. Lomax, Lottie B. Anderson (Leonard), Emma J. Woolfolk (Eddie) and two foster sisters, Delores Coleman and Nannie Walker; eight sisters-in-law, Janice Turner, Oser Turner, Elizabeth Parker, Lillie Branham, Betty Lou Allen, Geraldine Allen, Cathelia Allen, Darlene Allen; seven brothers-in-law, Charles Turner, Sr., Garnett Allen, Willie Branham, Marshall Allen, Hilburn Allen, Jr., Paul Allen and Clifton Allen; ten grandchildren, Angelique Smith, Lakita Lewis, Jajuan Lewis, Shanika Lee, Tiquanna Allen, Shequana Turner, Jozlyn Baker, Treyvon Anderson, Shanee' Baker, Tyonna Anderson; one great grandchild, Nehemiah Minor; one godson, Charles "Bird" Turner, Jr.; a special niece, Selena Turner and two special nephews, Rodney Turner and Stacey Lomax.

A viewing will beheld 4 to 7:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends 7 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 26, 2010, at A. L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home, 200 Butternut Drive, Fredericksburg. The funeral will be held at noon, Saturday, March 27, at Macedonia Baptist Church, 7187 Macedonia Road, Woodford, with Pastor Carrol Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
