Mr. William ""Eddie"" Roden Edwards, 62, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at Lando Church of God, with the Rev. Edward Harris officiating and the Rev. Larry Nunn assisting. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery in Rock Hill.

Born in Rock Hill, S.C., Mr. Edwards was a son of the late William Davis Edwards and the late Betty Cornwell Edwards. He attended Lando Church of God and owned an electrical business in the Rock Hill area for 30 years. He was a U.S. Navy Special Forces veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam/River Patrol, where he was wounded, and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Mr. Edwards bred and showed American Quarter horses and was a horse show and rodeo judge and former team roper. He was the ultimate Georgia Bulldog fan.

Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Linda K. Edwards; his son, Justin Edwards of Richburg; his daughter, Erin Edwards Mosley and husband, Ronnie Jr., of Richburg; his brother, Steve Edwards and wife, Linda, of Rock Hill; his sister, Cynthia Edwards Reider of Rock Hill; ""Daddy Eddie's"" special girl, Karlee Elizabeth Church; his aunt, Faye Cornwell Pearson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Jane Edwards.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill and other times at the home of his daughter, Erin and Ronnie Mosley, 2832 E. Pinewood Road, Richburg.
