A graduate of Circleville HS she attended the Brown Medical College and worked for a time at Middletown and Berger Hospitals as a Radiographer/Lab Tech. She was the first of her family to go beyond a High School education, to be followed by her brother, daughters and grandchildren. Her interest in the medical field would carry on to her daughters and one of her grandchildren, all whom work in the field of Radiology.
During WWII, she worked in Moorhead City, NC, a place that she loved to recall and where she kept friends for many years. She was fortunate to be paired with a great family there who treated her like one of their own children. She returned to Circleville when her father became seriously ill after the war. It was during this time she met the love of her life.
In 1947 she was married to Jim Carr, a fellow Circleville HS alum that returned to town after Naval service in WWII, and lived for a time in Circleville before moving to Columbus. It was there Lee and Jim raised their family.
She greatly enjoyed working in her garden and cared greatly for her children and grandchildren. She was a charter member of her community garden club, a patron of the Circleville Historical Society (donating Webbe family artifacts and money) and a devout member of the Clinton Heights Lutheran Church in Columbus as well as a donating member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Circleville.
