From obituary in The Frederick Post, January 10, 1926:

"Word was received here Saturday by relatives of the death of Jasper E. Schaeffer, for more than fifty years a resident of Ballenger district, at the home of his son, Lieut. Calvin W. Schaeffer, 4627 George avenue, Washington, on Friday morning. Bronchial pneumonia was the cause of death. He was 76 years, one month and seven days old. He was ill about one week.

Born near Feagaville, Mr. Schaeffer was for many years a carpenter in that section of the county as well as in Frederick. About four years ago he moved to Washington after retiring, and has made his home with his children there.

He is survived by his widow, two sons, Lieut. Schaeffer and Elwood J. Schaeffer, the latter of Feagaville; three daughters, Mrs. David O. Hoffman, Doubs; Mrs. Thomas Blumenauer, Washington, and Miss Etta Schaeffer, also of Washington.

Funeral services will be held at Mt. Zion Reformed church, Feagaville, this morning at 10:30 o'clock. The body will be shipped here from Washington. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery."
