Willard Foster Fleagle of Issaquah passed away Monday, August 8, 2011 at home. He was 80 years old.

Bill was born September 29, 1930 in Baltimore, Maryland to James and Jennie Fleagle. He was raised in Reisterstown, Maryland and graduated from Franklin High School in 1948. Following high school Bill furthered his education at the University of Maryland where he earned a Bachelor's Degree.

In 1951 Bill entered the United States Army. He served his country with heroism and humility during the Korean War and was discharged honorably in 1954. On February 2, 1957 Bill married Barbara Lee Dowell in Pikesville, Maryland. They settled in Bellevue, Washington in 1960.

In his leisure time Bill enjoyed restoring pianos, wood working, carpentry work and studying and watching steam engines. He is remembered by his family as a loving and caring husband of 54 years and dedicated father who possessed a gentle and kind spirit. A man of integrity, he was gracious, polite and an 'old fashioned gentleman'. Bill is deeply missed.

Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Fleagle of Issaquah; children, Jenifer C. Merilatt of Snoqualmie Ridge, Matthew D. Fleagle of Seattle and Benjamin D. Fleagle of North Pole, Alaska; siblings, Miriam Linker of Pikesville, Maryland, Benjamin Fleagle of Williamsburg, Washington, Vivian Leatherwood of Edmonds, Washington and Richard Fleagle of Redmond, Washington; ten grandchildren and a host of extended family members and friends.

In Lieu of flowers the family suggests remembrances to Group Health Community Foundation Hospice Fund, Department 4194, P.O. Box 34936, Seattle, Washington 98124-1936. Remembrances may also be made to a charity of your choice.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held 1pm, Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Highland Covenant Church in Bellevue. Private inurnment will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery.
