Grandson of James Ivory and Elizabeth Ingram Stewart.
He was an orphan from Ruston who sold goods in LA and TX where he met and married his wife Ida Lambdin. They moved to Haughton, LA where they settled on land which became known as Stewart Road (and still is today). I-20 split the land and Stewart road in the early 1970's, but the original homeplace is still owned by the family on Stewart Road. His sister's were Mattie Crow and Matilda Holemon and his brother was John Edmund Stewart. He has 3 living descendants with the "Stewart" name. They are me and my 2 sons.
