The River Press, Fort Benton, Mont., 16 Oct 1889
Died--At Fort Benton, Mont., Wednesday, Oct. 9, 1889, Mrs. Hannah Evans, aged 71 years.
Mrs. Hannah Evans, who has been hanging between life and death for several days, passed peacefully away at 9 o'clock this morning. The immediate cause of death was double pneumonia, from which she suffered a short time. "Grandma Evans," as she was familiarly known to all of us, had lived the allotted time of three score and ten, being 71 years and several months old. She was a motherly woman and her life was devoted to good deeds.
She leaves several sons and daughters to mourn her loss. Two of her sons, W.C. and W.S. Evans, live here, and another, John Evans, lives at Sand Coulee. Everything that loving hearts and willing hands could do was done for her in her last illness.
Her funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence of her son W.S. Evans, on Chouteau street in this city. All friends are invited.
