Union, Aug. 18.--Mrs. M. H. Jefferies of Gaffney died at 6 o'clock this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Davis Jefferies of Union. Mrs. Jefferies, who was the widow of the late John R. Jefferies, was 73 years of age. Her husband died many years ago. She was the mother of J. Eb. Jefferies, George D. Jefferies, Dr. S. L. Jefferies of Gaffney, J. G. Jefferies of Little Rock, Ark., John R. Jeeries [sic] of Little Rock, Ark., John R. Jefferies terboro, [sic] Mrs. Davis Jefferies of Union and Mrs. George H. Burbage of Columbia. Mrs. Jefferies was for 52 years a devoted member of El Bethel Baptist Church, where the funeral services will be held at noon Monday, the body being laid to rest beside that of her husband in the graveyard of the church.
