Dana Anderson Geary, 74, died Sunday, July 20, 1997 at Cottonwood Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Dana was born Feb. 10, 1923 in Bothwell, Utah, a daughter of Hans L. and Hazel Mary Tracy Anderson.

She married Russell Dean Geary on Nov. 30, 1945 in Coalville, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on April 25, 1949. He died on Oct. 8, 1991.

A lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she fulfilled callings in the various organizations of her ward. She devoted her last years to a quest for gospel knowledge.

Dana graduated from North Summit High School. She and Dean founded Geary Construction in 1947. She worked in the business as secretary and bookkeeper helping to build Geary Construction, but her most cherished role was wife, mother and grandmother. Her life revolved around her family. Their "togetherness" was the focus of her endeavors. She loved "quick" trips to the city.

Surviving are her son, Tony Dean Geary of Hollywood, California, daughters, Jana Geary Steele of Idyllwild, California and DeAnn Geary Bond of Coalville, Utah; six grandchildren, Brendan Dean Steele, Sean Steele, Russell Dax Geary, DaNell Bond, Waylon Bond and Cameron Bond. Also surviving are one sister, Janis Padfield and two brothers, Andrew T. Anderson and Lynn T. Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dean; three sisters, Merle Conger, Zayda Warburton and Wilma Johnson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 26 1997 at 11 a.m. in the Hoytsville 2nd Ward Chapel with Bishop Wade Judd officiating. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary in Coalville, Friday from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment Coalville Cemetery.
