Lt. William F. Kaslick, DSN 1086, was hired as a civilian clerk for the department and worked in that position from 08/16/1949 to 02/01/1953.

On 02/01/1953 he was commisioned as a Police Officer. He served in the 3Rd, 4Th, and 1St Districts, as well as being assigned to Secret Service Division, Bureau of Services, Records/Identification Section, Quality Control Division, and the Laboratory Division.

Lt. Kaslick was also a graduate of the National Academy Course of the FBI Academy in 1976. He served a total of 46.47 years of service to the department. He was awarded 1 Letter of Commendation on 12/01/1964.

He was also a veteran of the Missouri National Guard Unit attaining the rank of Sergeant 1St Class from 04/01/1950 to 04/01/1956.

Lt. Kaslick retired from the department on 02/05/1996.


Mr. William F. Bill Kaslick, Sr., 82, of Frederick, MD, died Saturday, August 6, 2011.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Frances (Lahey), his high school sweetheart. Bill was born July 4, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the oldest child of the late Frederick and Mary (Mulvehill) Kaslick. Bill's entire career was spent as a member of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. When he retired in 1996 as a Lieutenant, he had served 47 years in the Department. Many of those were spent as the Commander of the Identification and Records Division. Bill was also a proud graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

He and Frances moved to Frederick, MD in 2002 to be near his daughter and her family. Once here, his affable, kind and generous nature soon earned him many new friends. Till the end of his life, he loved his family, good friends, single-malt scotch and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, William F. Kaslick, Jr. Bill is survived by his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Kaslick and her husband, William Buckley of Frederick, MD; grandchildren Samantha Ann McCarthy, Robert Kaslick, Max Kaslick and Grace Buckley; brother Richard Kaslick and sisters Barbara Karmi and Patricia Vandenberg, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Services: The family will receive visitors at KEENEY AND BASFORD Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, Maryland on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from 5 - 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, 118 East Second Street, Frederick. Burial at St. John's Cemetery, will follow.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Western Maryland 108 Byte Drive, Suite 103, Frederick, MD 21702.
