Walter Joseph Skwarlo, 11 April 1922 to 9 August 2011. Served his country during WWII, USAF, 1st Lt., 460 Bomb Group, Bombardier, achieving the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service in 50 missions. His worldwide business career included the Oil Insurance Assn. and culminated with Alexander & Alexander as the V.P. of Petroleum Property Engineering. From Walt's birth in Houston, PA, till his death in DeSoto, TX, he endeared himself to many people by his personal sharing and many wonderful stories. He also endeared himself to all small animals that were lucky enough to make his acquaintance. Walt is survived by his daughter, Mary Goins & husband, William, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his very special Chris Storey & family. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret, along with his parents and siblings of Houston, PA. Funeral services are 12:30 pm, Friday, August 12, 2011, at St. Anne Episcopal Church, 1700 N. Westmoreland, DeSoto, TX, 75115. Burial will follow in DFW National Cemetery. Visitation with the family is 7-9 pm, Thursday, also at the church.
